Vista Welcome Center: How to add/edit/delete icons?

Sponsored Links
My new Dell XPS 410 machine came pre-loaded with Vista Ultimate.
However, the startup "Welcome Center" window has broken links. Some of
the Welcome Center icons don't have a picture and others point to the
wrong path. For instance, the Vista Mail icon points to "C:\Programs",
so the application does not open.

Does anybody know of a simple way to add, edit and delete icons in the
Vista Welcome Center?

Thank you in advance,

J.

Re: Vista Welcome Center: How to add/edit/delete icons?

This is driven by the xml file in
%SystemRoot%\system32\oem\info\...\oobe.xml . You should consider editing
this file to be like editing the registry. The format is fairly
self-explanatory, however be careful not to change the xml namespaces.
