I've installed Vista after running the compatibility report. Nothing was
flagged, however it could not find drivers for the net card. HP apparently
is not going to support this model on Vista. Do you know where I could find
drivers?

It would be kinda nice if you included either the full model number of you
2100 is line of PC, subversion would be like the 2106US
But even better, do you happen to know what your network card is ? If not,
you might have to run out and grab a linksys or some other card for
BestBuy\CompUSA
Sorry about leaving that information out. It's a Presario 2162US laptop.
About 3 years old. HP\Compaq doesn't list any information about the ethernet
controller, so I don't know the manufacturer. Don't think I can just go out
and buy a new network card for a laptop.

The Lan chip is National Semiconductor's DP83815/816.
Sure you can, it plugs into the PCMIA slot. For $22 you can even get a
gigabit card

or a basic linksys

You might try these drivers for it, I'd choose the 2003 and see if they work

Else keep goggling for Vista and DP83815/816 drivers and see what you find
Thanks for all the help! Finding and installing the 2003 drivers worked
great. Vista is up and running.

I also have a problem with my National Semiconductor DP83815 based Ethernet card in my laptop. Running vista and it does not detect my card. Where did you find the drivers?
