Audigy Advanced MB Drivers and Vista

I recently installed Home Premium Vista and after rebooting, I had no sound
and did not get any sound until I uninstalled the Audigy Software. Then I
had sound. I reinstalled the Audigy from the original CD and when it booted
up, it hit me with an error box Error Loading CTMBHA.DLL Invalid Access to
memory location. Also it never asked me for my activation code during the
installation. I also had a SPKR.EXE ERROR DURING INSTALLATION AND HAD TO
CLOSE OUT THAT SECTION OF THE INSTALL. A RED X WAS OVER THE SPEAKER ICON IN
THE TASK BAR AND SAID THE AUDIO SERVICE WAS NOT WORKING. So there I was
again uninstalling. Checked Creatives website and no where did I see a
updated driver for Audigy Advanced MB. Anyone out there have the same
problem

Re: Audigy Advanced MB Drivers and Vista

Yes, this I've had that problem with my Audigy 4 card. My "fix" was to first
install full software from the Windows XP package (you will notice what
applications work and what does not, you can uninstall it and reinstall the
package without those applications later.) and then install the drivers for
Windows Vista. It was the only way I found to get the 5.1 sound working
correctly for my sound system that requires that sound be re-directed to the
bass speaker with the software.

Re: Audigy Advanced MB Drivers and Vista

When you reinstalled the Audigy software, did it ask you for your activation
number. Mine does not and that is why I think I am getting a dll error when
it boots. Plus there are a couple of the programs that wont install
soundmixer.exe and spkr.exe. Your saying not to do a full install, but pick
the options you want and eliminate the soundmixer and spr installations?
