| Changing how WMP11 'folders' music on my Zen Nano?
I have WMP 11 and i want to use it to sync music to my Zen Nano. Problem is that when it does so, it puts them in this file/folder arrangement: k:\Music\{artist}\{album}\filename.mp3 which is a problem because the nano doesn't have the capability to go 'up' folders, only across, so it always looks at the lowest folder, which would be Album, because it sorts what would be 'artist' by album. long story short, how do i make it so it only puts it \Music\Artist\Filename.mp3? or even better: k:\Artist\Filename.mp3 or the best: k:\Artist\Artist - Album - Trackname.mp3, they way winamp can be set to do Thanks so much, in advance. |

If I understand correctly, you can go to the "options" for the "Rip" Tab in WMP 11. There you will see a button called "File Name" and you can change what will be included in the file name when you rip music in the future. As you make changes, the sample will change in the bottom. If it's an mp3 you already have, you are going to have to do it manually by editing the "tag" of each MP3 which will allow you to change the file name. Bijan, try the following: 1. Connect your Zen Nano to your computer. 2. In Windows Media Player 11, click the arrow below the "Sync" tab, and then click "More Options." 3. In the "Options" dialog, double-click "Zen Nano." 4. Clear the "Create folder hierarchy on device" check box. -- John Shaw Windows User Assistance team Microsoft Corporation "Texas Aggie" <TexasAggie@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:669A40A2-DF91-4C26-870F-7299160B58D8@microsoft.com... > If I understand correctly, you can go to the "options" for the "Rip" Tab > in > WMP 11. Hello, This is not working because the "Create folder hierarchy on device" option is grayed out. Do you know the reason for this ? Would there be like a registry trick as a workaround ? i am using windows vista, wmp11 and a samsung u600 "John Shaw [MSFT]" wrote: > Bijan, try the following: > > 1. Sorry, I don't know. My guess is that this check box might only be available if the device meets certain requirements (that is, Windows Media Player might ask the device if it supports this feature and the device might respond that it does not). -- John Shaw Windows User Assistance team Microsoft Corporation "Mr.BrYcE" <Mr.BrYcE@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D263168E-7656-4F57-95A8-920D60394AAE@microsoft.com... > Hello, > > This is not working because the "Create folder hierarchy on device" option > is grayed out. > Do you know the reason for this ? > Would there be like a registry trick as a workaround ? > > i am using windows vista, wmp11 and a samsung u600 > > "John Shaw [MSFT]" wrote: > >> Bijan, try the following: >> >> 1.
