RE: limewire

I have the same problem and can't figure out how to get past it. It's very
annoying. I hate firewalls. And I thought I would enjoy vista but it's
turning out to be more of a hassle then what's it's worth.

Re: limewire

The two seem to go hand-in-hand. Use peer-to-peer networking to download
music : hate firewalls. Funny coincidence. Neither one is a good idea.

I just hope you don't do any online shopping or banking. Your PC will soon
be infected with spyware, Trojans, and keyloggers.

Dale we didn't ask for your smart remarks. Keep your comments to yourself.
We were here to find some help not get comments like yours. I don't comment
on the stuff you do on the computer.

Re: limewire

Hey, I was just telling you the facts. I have cleaned up too many instances
of those things installed by peer-to-peer music downloading software. I
didn't even comment on the character implications of downloading music
illegally or the possibility of getting sued by the RIAA. I didn't comment
at all on what you do with your PC. I only commented on the certain result
of using peer-to-peer downloading software.

If you don't care that your PC is loaded with spywares, trojans, and
keyloggers, that's your problem.

And, for support on how to make Limewire work on Vista, I suggest
http://www.riaa.org.

Re: limewire

Someone who cannot figure out how to configure a firewall to allow them to
steal things that aren't rightfully theirs shouldn't be calling anyone
names.

Not only are you a thief, but a not very bright one at that!

Yes, I commenting on "stuff you do on your computer". I don't use P2P; I
don't take things that don't rightfully belong to me, and I can configure a
firewall to allow apps to function normally while *still using* the
firewall. I don't expect to have everything handed to me on a silver
platter.

Re: limewire

As Hertz indirectly said you should be able to go into control panel and
configure the firewall to allow lime to connect without turning it off. (If
you live in Canada downloading is legal but uploading is not, since they put
a fee on things like ipods and blank CD's which go to the artist/recording
companies). Though if you just use you computer for media and don't live off
it, people shouldn't expect you to know how to configure System programs.

Re: limewire

i had problem downloading msn and the reason is the high security levels in
the settings of windows vista. I had to go to explorer window top right Tools
and disable Add-Ins and Fishing Filter then install.
I have a crashed computer from limeware and unless u r good with viruses,
spyware and all that then u might want to protect ur computer.

Re: limewire

that's all good that you'll want to argue but why would limewire but put
there to use if it was illegal? i can understand if you were using their
music illegally but if you just use it for your own personal music library
then what is the big deal!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: limewire

I am having the same exact problem. Even when I have gone to other p2p
websites to get their software, my download will not complete. I am worried
about trying to disable my adding and changing the fishing filters as someone
suggested before. Have you tried to do that and if so, does it work now?

Thanks!

Re: limewire

I had the same problem with Limewire, it would not connect even after I
"allowed" it in my firewall program. Switched to Frostwire, works fine,
and it is just like Limewire!

My limewire works fine with vista, if not better!

Re: limewire

Ditto hikahika67. I too have abandoned Limewire and moved to Frostwire and am
at this time connected. Noting the level of users here who cant connect to
limewire through Vista they obviously know something their users dont.
Unethical business arrangements I call that. Abandon ship I say. I've tried
connecting on numerous occasions and overhauled my security levels as well as
checking my compatablity,I cant connect either. Frostwire is "free" to folks.
