Explorer Folders

Installed Home Premium, full version, got all the latest updates.
The first two folders on the Vista HD are:

3dc8b27f0b7e4a4b4de6ce21feec
subfolder = update
update.exe
wudfcustom.dll

b0013d3e3fd9c4bbcd
subfolder = update
update.exe
wpdinstallutil.dll
updspapi.dll

Apparently these 2 folders were named by drunken chickens.
Can I delete them w/o destroying the hen house and pissing off the roosters?

Re: Explorer Folders

Why worry about deleting these? They couldn't take up much real estate.
Also roosters are into drunken chickens big time last time I checked.

And your response answers the posters' question exactly......how?
Why do you continue to repeatedly copy/paste such off-post-topic nonsense
instead of actually answering questions?

Well, we all know THAT'S a silly question, now isn't it?

I deleted both of these - no problem.

In both XP and Vista, if a folder or file is used by any
process/application, you will get a warning when you try to delete the
file/folder.

Re: Explorer Folders

The folders may be needed in case you need to uninstall the updates.

The name of the folder is to ensure global uniqueness of the filename so
that it does not interact with any other filename that could exist on the
computer.

Re: Explorer Folders

In the future, simply set a manual restore point when you uninstall
something; preferrably after you know what it's for. Ocassionally an update
is problematic for an application or some Windows functionality, but not
nearly as often as say 3-5 years ago.

It could be those are junk left over from the updates, but there's no
