    Google Earth

Does Google Earth work under Vista?

I'm having a problem running it.

    Yes it works.

I've had no problems with it in any beta build or RTM. No problems with
MSN's competitor MSN Virtual Earth , although it has a lot of room for
    growth including the new 3D.

    What are the problems?

I installs OK but when I try to run it I get an error message:

"The procedure entry point _except_handler4_common could not be located in
    the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll".

Pondering if it depends on the Vista Version.

Previously, have used Google Earth within Vista without conflicts.

A week or two, reformatted current HDD and re-installed Vista. After
everything was activated, as BitLocker and EFS, attempted installing Google
Earth, very quickly Vista removed that application.

Just realized, near certain, that Google Earth has been removed from HDDs
    running Vista.

Although, easily could be secondary to BitLocker's stubborness for not
allowing modifications to Vista's OS, specifically, when the application
contains Trackers and/or other malware. If that be so, more than greatful I
am for Vista and BitLocker's incredible inherent Security !!! WOW, what a
    confident and secure pleasure !

No problem here with Vista64 RC1

Are you running BitLocker and EFS?

Currently have Vista x64 on all HDDs except one that remains dual booted
with XP Pro x86 and Vista x86, *without* BitLocker activated. Also, my
    Processor is an Anthlon X64.

Sure would appreciate learning if you are running BitLocker.

I've just purchased a new computer. The operating system is Vista 64. I installed the most recent version of Google Earth. It runs and works well with one exception. It does not render photorealistic 3D buildings properly. They have some color but lack details. My wife's XP system works just fine and looks fantastic. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Your right, it does work in Vista 64. Unfortunately, the area I'm interested in has better coverage by Google Earth.

Do you really think this is a Vista problem? I have a feeling you would
get better answers from a Google Earth support group, assuming there is
    such a thing.
