same here man, cant open security center :/
Hi, I've installed Windows Vista RC2. Last week I installed Ulead VideoStudio
10+ and Ulead CD&DVD PictureShow 4. Since then every time I open an explorer
windows in a folder with an MPG file, a message box with the legend "Windows
host process (Rundll32) has stopped working" appears.
I think it's because Windows can't show me a preview of the file in the
icon. Anybody knows how I can fix it? Thank you very much...
I have a couple of programs that installed fine (and were labelled OK running
upgrade advisor before clean install) in RC2 (5744) but I noticed once those
programs were running, about 10-15mins into it I get the same Rundll32
stopped working message and the program has to shut down. I tried a few
things to fix it with no resolution.
That was a show stopper for me.
I installed Vegas 7.0 and encounter similar problems with Rundll32. I knew
not to install the Sony Media Manager as this portion of the app relies on a
version of SQL that is not compatible with RC 2.
Vegas will run (though I haven't test all aspects of the app) but I need to
cancel out of a couple of Rundll32 error messages before it will fully load.
I have no problem with Explorer windows and MPEG or other video files and
Rundll32.
I am getting this error when I try and empty my recycle bin. I am running
Windows Vista Ultimate (clean install) RTM x86. Is there a fix? I have read
other threads. Other people have had this same problem. No one seems to
know why or offer some sort of fix. I would appreciate a bug fix. It is
simply annoying. This could prove serious when released.
**Warning** if you do not have a solution, or are not smart enough to
understand, do not answer this post**
Update: When I click on 'Check online for a solution and close the program'
( I do not have any programs opened ) the window reappears multiple times in
a frenzy until the recycle bin is closed. 'View problem details' reveals:

This is extremely annoying. Its disturbing that Microsoft has released this
OS in this shape. I have found other bugs as well, but up until now I have
found solutions in this forum.
Look, all I am trying to do is raise awareness here that Vista Ultimate has
a serious error. I posted the complete error here for anyone qualified that
might offer some insight. I wanted to eliminate garbage responses, no
offense intended
"Yes I do Rob. Nero 7.0. In fact, it is the version that is supposed to be
compatible with Vista. I haven't had any other glicthes associated with
burning disks.
hi,everybody, I have been having the same annoying problem with this when i have tried to play videos from my media center library, same message (run dll32) stopped working etc, then closedown of media center (windows vista home premium by the way) tried everything but the kitchen sink on this one ,I have eventually solved it during a search through various forums ,found out in my case it was nero7 causing the problem ,so I was instructed to try the following and up to now its worked, here,s what I did, went into local disc( c:)>program files>common files>select folder Ahead>select folder DSFilter>then rename folder NeVideo.ax to 1NeVideo.ax I have not got a clue what this has done cos I am certainly no technical wizard on a pc but it (media center) does now play videos from the library instead of me having to use VLC player etc,I hope this can work for some of you .

Hey, if you find a solution I'd like to know what it is. I have the
same problem only mine says "Windows host process has stopped
working'. It doesn't say anything about Rundell32. It says to update
my HP printer driver to solve the ptoblem. I don't have a printer
installed on my laptop.
The faulting module, XWDkernel.dll, is part of WindowsDock software, not
Vista. You should be directing your query to their support.
I have the same error message no nero no video issues I know of.
