Vista Movie Maker - Cannot add content to Timeline or Storyboard

I am having trouble adding media onto the Timeline or Storyboard strip either
by using the drag and drop or a menu shortcut.

I have imported one of the sample videos, a recorded TV file from Media
Center, a jpg photo and an MP3 music file into Movie Maker.

When I try to drag any of imported items onto either the Timeline or
Storyboard, nothing usually happens. The only exceptions are:

Can add a title sequence OK.
If I create a new project, I can sometimes add one MP3 file or one photo but
then nothing else. I have never been able to add a video clip.

There are no corresponding errors in any of the event logs.

I did have Nero 6 installed which I have subsequently uninstalled, but this
has not made a difference.

Anyone any ideas? Can Movie Maker be re-installed somehow?

I'm having the same problems. It worked for mpgs in the morning and
afternoon did what it was suppossed to, then when I tried working on it later
that evening I could'nt get the media into the storyboard or timeline. As you
have said the add titles works but that's all. I too am looking to uninstall
& re-install. but from what I've read on the net it looks unpromising.

RE: Vista Movie Maker - Cannot add content to Timeline or Storyboa

Same with me! I am running Vista Ultimate.

I cannot add imported clips to my storyboard or timeline. I cannot drag or
right click and select "Add to..."

How do I fix this? Is it possible to reinstall Windows Movie Maker 6?
