    Adobe Creative Suite 2

My upgrade to Vista was perhaps a little too hasty. After installing my copy
of Adobe CS2, I discovered that my name, company, and serial number were in
question before I could activate. Starting any of the programs results in a
"Personalize Your Software" window, asking for my information. No matter how
many times I retype it, it won't let me activate or use any of the programs.

The problem is acknowledged on this page:

(where it's listed as a problem that CAN BE FIXED).

And I thought this page offered a solution:
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/331649.html but it seems geared towards
    the problem in XP.

Surely I'm not the only one to run across this?!? Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Sounds like a possible UAC problem. Have you tried to run the program
elevated? (right click and select "run as administrator"

I've tried that. Should I have run the install executable "elevated?"

It is certainly worth a shot....just try reinstalling it that way. if that
doesn't work you may need to try turning off UAC.

I've installed CS2 so many times now... I turned off UAC completely, ran the
setup executable "as an administrator," and ran each individual program "as
an administrator." I've even tried running the setup and installed programs
in "XP SP2 Compatibility Mode." I can't install my Suite, and I can't do my
    work! :-/

    Has anyone else had success?

I had exactly the same problem.

You pointed me in the right direction with your tech docs links and I eventually found a solution.

My problem was that I am running a 64-bit machine; when CS2 installs it gives an error about not recognising characters in the pathname it defaults to - if you change this to "C:\Progra~2\Adobe" (and I mean for you to type that exactly as is including the "~") it installs in the correct directory (the one for 32-bit programs) and all's well.
