Problem with Bluetooth Headset in Vista

Hello,

When i connect with the device i get a "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" with a

In Vista 5840 i had no problems.

You'll need to check with the manufacturer for drivers.

There are no drivers for it. It always worked without drivers. It added new
audio devices and worked fine. On old XP with Widcomm and till Vista 5840.

Re: Problem with Bluetooth Headset in Vista

Hi,

All hardware requires either a driver file or support from the system BIOS
to function in any given operating system. What has likely happened here,
and is quite common during betas, is that supporting drivers for the device
were removed from a build. This could be because it was not compatible or
had a conflict with some function in Vista, or at the request of the device
manufacturer (and that does happen some times, just ask any former owner of
a 3dfx card what happened during the XP beta phase). As there is no longer
any native supporting drivers (and a bluetooth device would use a driver
file, not the system BIOS), you will need to get them from the manufacturer
of the device (who, ultimately, is the one responsible for supplying them)

Re: Problem with Bluetooth Headset in Vista

Windows Vista do include a built-in Bluetooth driver. I believe DocMax's
problem isn't a driver problem, but a Bluetooth Profile problem. Currently MS
BT Driver on Vista doesn't have A2DP profile built-in, so you just can't use
your Bluetooth stereo headset to enjoy music. :(

I've tried install 3rd party drivers but as expected they just crashes
Vista. :(

Maybe currently the only think we can do is wait...

This is ridiculous...

I cannot believe that Vista does not have support for Bluetooth headsets. This is something which worked great in XP SP2 and with Vista it is like downgrading. I cannot believe this. I hope Microsoft fixes this soon. I guess there is no solution to this, which is really bad.

Try ubuntu. No, seriously...it has a whole bunch of bluetooth support built
in.

Just go download the liveCD and try it =) No need to install..

Can't promise your headset will work (don't own one so never tried,
therefore no experience with it) and I actually removed all the bluetooth
stuff as I don't need it.

But I'd be curious to know if it "just works" (or if it doesn't too) =)
