Error 0x80072F8F

Has anyone else been getting this error, I've been trying to activate Vista
but am not sure why this error keeps coming up... Full servers or something
else... any help would be appreciated.

Not sure of the actual error numbers (they are at work, and I am not) but
are you running any virtual drive software? It's been causing a lot of
activation issues.

I have the same error and I don't use any virtual drive. I tried to activate
vista just after the installation... (no other software was installed)

same here and I'm starting to get ticked off. I tried activating ti normally
and got this error, so I tried activation by phone and it says to call a
number to get an installation ID (since I have no clue where to find mine)
and it doesnt give you one it just asks for it. tried customer service and
the guy tells me "go to ur start menu, then go to programs, then go to
properties" I just said nevermind at this since I couldnt find programs, I
did try all programs but couldnt figure out wat he ment so i tried right
clicking all programs and going to properties....that isnt helpful. If any1
could help with this error or lemme know how to find my installation ID i
would appreciate it.

Ok the error code means you date and tiem are out of sync with a certificate,
correct your date and tiem and you should solve the problem

Hi I am getting the same error. Can anyone tell me how to change the date and where I have to go to change the date. Also what sould I change it to. I have never had this problem before. its pissing me off. I need my computer and bearly can get on here. Thanks

I tried to activate windows vista home premium from a recovery cd of my
friends laptop for that i installed wga.cracked from some site & when i
really figured out that product key is written on the sticker not on the
cd case it was really late.
From then it started given this **** error (*Error 0x80072F8F*).
i m not using any virtual disk & i have been to all the related
possible forums.

Well use the recovery cd to start over with a clean installation & this time
use the correct key, as who knows what crap you installed with your crack
And next time dont fiddle with a PC untill you know what you are doing
