Windows Explorer keeps crashing

I could really use someones help. :(
My Windows explorer keeps crashing on me and every time I hit the "restart button" I only get a few short seconds before it crashes again. It's gotten to the point where I can't access any of my folders or files when I log in the normal way. Though the weird thing is, when I'm in safe mode I can access most of my documents and programs, but ONLY if I have Firefox open. And whenever I minimize or click out of Firefox, automatically reverting back to the desktop, it will stop on me again. This is making me think that whatever it is is probably on my desktop or in one of the folders there. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?
