    Windows Downloads - 'Status.msi' problem

    Hi, i have a Windows Vista system with Service Pack 1. I use Internet Explorer 8 as my default web browser, using which i downloaded the following updates: KB961371; KB905866; KB969693; KB973346; KB971933; KB890830

    Since i downloaded this updates i can see continuous 'status' problem. The pop up keeps asking me to find an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package. There is also no cancel button so that i can terminate the box and move ahead. The only way is to provide alternate folder path which i dont know. I can see the 'status.msi' in the browser box/drop down menu - no such path exists. Also i dont know exactly with which downloaded KB the problem is associated with.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Which antivirus or Antimalware are you using on your Vista system? I am asking this because i guess your system is infected. The first thing i will suggest you is to run MBAM/SAS as an additional check for malware in your system. Once done, better perform a deep and complete scan using SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS)
    <http://www.superantispyware.com/> and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM)
    <http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php>

    Once all scans are completed, reboot the system and see if still you getting the said problem.
