| You need permission to perform this action...again
Sorry for posting this here but I can't find a windows 7 group. I am having problems coying a signed exe from a shared folder on Windows 7 (Build 7100) to another windows 7 (Build 7100) computer. Each computer has a different admin account name with different password but both computers have a user account with the same name and password. I have used NT4, Windows 2000, 2003 and XP in my job over the years so I decided to use the advanced sharing. I share a folder on 1 computer and gave the user account full control under the share permissions. The administrators group owns the files in the shared folder. The user also has full control under the security tab. I can not double click and run the exes on the shared account. Nothing happens! The event logs are empty for this action. I have no feedback to tell me why it didn't run. Can someone point me in the direction of some log files for this please? An app ignoring the user with no feed back is very bad. Without feedback, how can I solve this issue? If I try to copy the file, I get the dreaded "You need permission to perform this action" even though the user account has full control at the destination. Why can't I copy a file using a user account please? If I try to copy the file using an admin account I create on both computers, it works. I don't want to do this though. If 1 computer gets a virus, the other can get infected as well. Cheers for any info you can supply, Jason. |
