vista - adobe updater

How do I find Adobe Updater so I can close it so I can uninstall a program? I've looked through all my programs and I've searched in the search box and nothing comes up? But I keep getting the message to close it before I can continue to uninstall

hi flowers72,

try this....press windows logo+R>type appwiz.cpl>locate the adobe
updater> click uninstall.

somehow, you need to complete the adobe update first before you can
uninstall the program. this adobe updater is somewhat pesky if you dont
update it.

Tried that. It's not listed. I have a google updater listed but not adobe. Can it be hidden?
I'm not very good with the technical side of computers so I know it could be something really simple, but I'm not seeing it! I have lots of adobe but nothing that says updater after it.

If you click your way into the guts of your machine the way the
article Dave-UK referenced, you WILL find it.
