| Vista Video Streaming problems (Youtube and all other streams)
This issues is simply HORRIFIC! Tons and tons of questions from users, who are having problems with Windows Vista and streaming videos online, like on youtube and every other place online and NO real source for handling this issue. NO it is not the internetconnection and NO it is not the drivers. We have all tried to re-install these 40 times and we all got the newest versions but STILL the streaming stops, pauses, glitches, hops and simply makes watching videos online a pain in the *** with Windows Vista. I have lost my patience ... I've googled, searched, read and read some more about solving this issue with NO result yet. PLEASE - if anyone out there knows how to really fix this problem, then PLEASE write it in this thread, because I feel stupid that I just purchased a new 2000$ laptop with Windows Vista and a bunch of other cool stuff, and the computer works even WORSE than my old computer. I really don't want to go back to XP, so please help me fix this issue? :( |

Yours is an Interesting post to me.... the link to your thread on your TechArena forum has 7 advertising links at the top, all of them offering help in resolving issues like yours. A few days ago I browsed the TechArena forums and found them good... so I applied for membership. When I first logged in a popup note said that I've been banned from the site with no reason given. The note said the ban would never be lifter. It seems like this post and others from TechArena are all about harvesting visitors for whatever reasons, not really for seeking assistance. |

read the word 'lifter' as 'lifted' Maybe everyone else knows about TechArena, and I'm just catching up. |

I've read all the posts about this issue but none of them can resolve the problem. I wouldn't waste my time writing threads, if I could resolve the problem by reading the threads. But this is a serious issue and many other users have the same problem. This is 2009, many use IE8, newest drivers, newest flashplayer etc., but the streaming is still extremely bad. Not just on youtube, but on all streaming sites where you can watch video. Surely some must have experienced this problem with Windows Vista and found a solution?? I really need help on this issue - I can't believe that things went much faster, smoother and better on XP ?! |

I like how responding to your posts here automatically carries my info into the TechArena forums, from where many of website visitors come from.... I'll continue to enhance my website info to cover such issues. 70% of my visitors are still using XP... and the beta of Windows 7 is here. That's one way to resolve Vista issues, not use it. I have 2 Vista computers, and streaming video works great. The only time most users have problems, is with their internet connection speed being low. You should have at least a download of 500kbps to view Youtube, other sites need higher bandwidth. |

| Re: Vista Video Streaming problems (Youtube and all other streams)
I am having exactly the problem described above, I think. I am running Vista Home Premium on an Acer 5315 laptop and am having great difficulty streaming video on google, youtube or any other such video hosting sites, either in IE8 or in Firefox 3. Often the video will begin to stream and I can see that the video is being downloaded fairly quickly at first, but then it will stop downloading suddenly at a seemingly arbitrary point and the stream will then freeze when the video reaches that point. Nothing from that point on will persuade the video to download any further. There is NOTHING wrong with my internet connection, which is at worst around 2MB. There is NOTHING wrong with my browsers or my version of flash. All are completely up-to-date. I have cleared all temporary internet files and my cache many many times with no effect. Someone, please help? From an extensive google search, it appears that this is far from an unusual problem, but all solutions posted don't seem to address the issue and there are a LOT of Vista users out there who are still suffering from this problem. |
