SB X-FI Vista 64 install Code 39 Error

I just did a fresh install and cant get my Sound Card SB X-FI to install, installed the new drivers & old ones and removed card rebooted and then reinstalled the card to see if that would help. I keep getting the same issue & the card is not listed in the sound settings.


I get the yellow triangle in the device manager with the error:

Quote:

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.


What am I doing wrong and how to resolve this? I know it works it was working fine yesterday before I decided to do a reinstall. I also installed it into a different PC to make sure the care worked fine.

maybe re-download the driver. it is possible the installer is corrputed.
did you 'run as admin' on the installer?

yes already tired that.

Are you sure that it is the sound card giving this error Code 39. ? This code 39
error is for your CD\DVD driver as described below

It's possible to have this error for other device although not always
you can remove UpperFilter,LowerFilter otherwise this device will still
not work,or if is very important device you can even crash your system

Navigate to key
*HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36 E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}*

and set phrase *UpperFilters* to *ksthunk* (as REG_MULTI_SZ)
and remove *LowerFilters* if you have+restart

ok bro did that and upperfilter were already set to ksthunk and had no lowerfilters.
