FWIW - I'd the the Gparted Live CD - it's only a download away.

Acronis Disk Director

Partition Magic is incompatible with Vista, so EASEUS is your choice.

Considering that EASEUS Partition Manager Home Edition is fre and works
great for me on Vista, why pay for something else?

Re: EASEUS Partition Master or Partition Magic?

Hi,

If you use partition magic on an already installed Vista, you will
likely need to reinstall.

If you use GParted on the System partition, you will likely need to do
a startup repair. I have tried this myself and it worked fine. Tutorial
here:

'Using GParted to Resize Your Windows Vista Partition

I have used both Easeus Pro and Paragon PM9 . Both work perfectly for
me on Vista x64 and Win 7 x64.

PM9 has more features, but is more expensive than Easeus. PM10 is
coming out in April - if you can wait.

Hope it helps

now i know EASEUS Partition Master,GParted, Paragon PM9 and Acronis Disk Director for vista. as theWeissGuy says"Considering that EASUS Partion Manager Home Edition is free and works with Vista why pay for anything else?"
I choose EASEUS Partition Master and find this

yeah it's totally FREE for home vista users.

BTW, anybody use EASEUS Partition Master before? i need some information from you

how can i extend my data partition on vista with seagate 320g hhd?

system partition 60g,40.2g used
data partition 180g,175.6g used
backup partition 80g,12g used

you said you have used EPM, please tell how to slove my problem, thank you!

oh Dave ,thanks for your help!
maybe i should buy another new hard drive, but there is still 68g in backup partition, can i use EASEUS partition master to shrink this partition and enlarge my data partition?

Also, 12gb backup is the old one not tollay 175 GB of data, and this backup seems useless.

I have installed the Easeus Partition Master on my machine, smoothly. I don't need to pay for a now hard disk, haha.

BTW, when I asked the support of Easeus what should I take notive, their guy informed me install their new updated version 3.5, to convert and explore the partition, I have tried it, wonderful.

Re: EASEUS Partition Master or Partition Magic?

To extend one partition, you would have to shrink one of the other ones
first.
However, it doesn't look like you have enough space. You should probably
buy another drive.

Also, 175 GB of data is a LOT! How do you back it up into 12 GB?

Re: EASEUS Partition Master or Partition Magic?

Thank you guys
I had been used PQ for many years, after I installed Vista, I found I had to quite Partition Magic, because it couldn't support Vista at all, but I indeed get a alternative of PQ, the one named Partition Msater, more or less consoled me. I get it free but after that I get a trailpay edition from my friend, which saved $40 for me.
this one is professional editon, and support 64 vista. But my laptop is 32 bit, I 'm considring to upgrade it to 64 byte.
If any one have free edition, leave it for me ,ok? tks

Partition Wizard Home Edition is a free partition manager designed by MT
Solution Ltd. It supports 32/64 bit Windows Operating System including
Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. Home users can perform complicated
partition operations by using this powerful but free partition manager
to manage their hard disk partition such as Resizing partitions, Copying
partitions, Create partition, Delete partition, Format partition,
Convert partition, Explore partition, Hide partition, Change drive
letter, Set active partition and Partition Recovery.
'Partition Wizard is a Windows based FREE Partition Manager. It works
as partition magic and supports Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 server
and Windows 7. FREE for Home and Business user.'

It's best not to use Partition Magic 8.0...

Re: EASEUS Partition Master or Partition Magic?

It does look that way.

Nevertheless - thank you Liujing.

I have been trying out the app. you suggested.

It works very well on Vista x64 and 7 x64.

The best free partition manager I have come across.

The partition undelete function worked perfectly.

Re: EASEUS Partition Master or Partition Magic?

This AD is sick, I do not like to use partitionwizard, a clone of EASEUS
Partition Master but low in quality.
I still like to use partition master, it is safe and cost-effective, as well
as free tech-support. It also helps me enlarge the system partition without
reboot. great.
