Gears of War for Windows Patch is now available!!!

Hey all,

The digital signature issue has been fixed and certified by Microsoft so you
no longer have to set you clock back to play Gears of War for Windows. You
can get it right now:

This update fixes an expired digital signatures issue that prevents all
earlier versions of the game from launching. This is a required update.
Please download and install the update before launching the game.

This update incorporates all previous updates and bug fixes for Gears of War
for Windows, where applicable.

Thanks for your informative posts on GOW PC. My installation is working on
my XP SP3 PC. GOW comes up and I can play the game fine. However, I cannot
save my game! Not sure why. Is there something with Live! that I'm supposed
to do? I thought I could play locally without signing up to Live!. Should
I try uninstalling everything from scratch and reinstalling?

You can try to reintall the game and all patch, or go to the Gears of War -
Epic Games Forums

You have to sine in to Windows Live, than the game is saving you progress...
without sine in you can play the game, but you allways have to start from
the beginning...

i have a problem in playing gear of war

after installation when i click on the game icon or startup from crack or binarys
then a message appears

"ISSetup:cannot play game with modified code "

& game doesnot starts
i just installed game on 4 july 2009

my pc confi is ==== xp sp3 + 9400gt 1gb + 2gb ddr2ram + 2.66 c2d .........
so sir if u have any solution then pls tell me
i ll be realy thankfull to u ....

or can u post here the working patch ... bcoz the patch i get ... stopped in b/w & says a file with same name is there ........ & the file is startuo file !! what should i do ??

If your trying to play with a crack, of course the game will shutdown on
you. GFW live is built in to the executable and can detect whether or
not the disc is in or a modified EXE has been used. thats GFW security
from piracy in action...

really thanks for the help ..
i reinstalled the game & didnt copied crack in it & now its working .. but m not able to save my game ... the F1 key for creating profile is also not working .....

& whenever i close my game my all progress is lost .......

is there any solution for it .... ?????

Have you installed the latest patch, Cravin?

if you get the age verification page, put your age in, then go to
community, pc updates, then download the latest patch.

thanks for help ...... i got solution from some where ,, from another blog comm .....
its just that .. i needed 2 things
1- windows XLIVE software for games [ i got it free from windows site
2- i shifted the date 2008 january
& then game worked fine

many people faced same probs as do i .... so i got the sol

The update that's currently in place on their site Cravin, fixes the
issue with the digital signatures.

Meaning you dont have to put your clock/date back anymore.

But it's also good to hear you have the latest LIVE Redistributable.
