I Can't Make A Zipped Folder!!!!!

hi. i try to make a zipped folder but it will not work. i also have a vista computer - i need the zipped folder because, i need to put stuff in it so i can send it to my other computer. this is what it looks like

That is a zipped folder. Anything you move or copy to that folder will be
zipped. Another way to make a zipped folder is to select everything you want
to zip, then right click one of the selected objects and from the shortcut
menu, choose Send To and select compressed (Zipped) folder.

It looks like your zip file association has become linked with Notepad.
