Can't get passed windows error recovery screen

Hello All,

I have windows ultimate. I am getting a LogonUI.exe Bad Image error
when I boot up, the machine never loads windows, I have had it run for
days and not load.

When I reboot I get a Windows Error Recovery screen that gives me Start
Normal or three Safe Mode options. None of which will work, all display
the LogonUI error.

I have tried to put in the vista upgrade media, and also a burned copy
of a recover disk. Neither were recognized on boot up though the bios
is set to boot from cd rom first.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get my machine back?

Hi,

Does it give a path as to where that's loading from? The only legit file
would be under C:\Windows\system32, any other would indicate malware.

You'll likely need to work from the recovery environment, so being able to
boot from disk is essential. Instead of rearranging the boot order, instead
try removing all other bootable devices. This will force the bios to load
the only choice it has (that being the optical drive).

Once into the command line environment, you can run a disk check (chkdsk)
and sfc /scannow to detect and repair damaged system files.

burn it and boot it:

choose language>>repair computer>>system restore

And restore system to any previous checkpoint
