This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

I get this error on EVERYTHING I try to open on my Vista ultimate edition.

this happened last monday and I managed to navigate to control panel/users and create a new user with admin rights and all was good for 3 days, now we have this issue again.

Does anyone know what is going on? Is this some slick new virus out there?
    is it corruption in Vista?
    Please help.

Could be, I would do a thorough full system scan with your installed
Antivirus, ensure it has the latest updates also.

No one can answer your question with so little information about your
system. To make sure your computer is virus/malware-free:

If the computer is clean, then:

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed
between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

You could also try a System Restore to a time when things worked. If the
computer is infected, this may or may not be effective.

it auto scans every morn. so it appears to be clean.
it also auto updates the antivirus software all the time.

as far as going to the site given in the post above, well I can't open anything including IE. (I'm currently at work)

and no, nothing new has been added recently to the computer (hardware or software)

Have you installed Google Chrome and then removed it. I did and then had
the same problem. If the answer is yes, reinstall Google Chrome and the
    issues go away.

Have you down loaded google chrome and then deleted it. If yes,
reinstall google chrome and the problems will stop occuring....

If you don't want google chrome to be your default browers open IE or
whatever you use and set that as your default browser.

Re: This operation has been cancelled

I have the same message in my laptop, I got Windows Vista by the way and I had never had this problem
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator"

What can I do? If someone can help me with this trouble I would appreciate it.
