Black preview screen in Movie Maker

Every time I try to play a video or audio clip, the preview screen is black
and there is no sound. The same thing happens when I play videos I made in in
past projects. Does anyone know why this may have happened. And if so, how do
I fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Open Movie Maker and have a look at the setings under Tools>Options
>Advanced make sure they are correct for the typs of dvd you are palying

Thanks, but I don't think it's a DVD problem. My media player plays my DVDs
fine.

Hi,

Are you able to see the video clips in the left pane, then when you
highlight one and click play at the top do you get the play clip option
?

Or if you right click one of the video files in the left pane, do you
get the play option ?

Hello,

I see all the video and audio clips I had previously uploaded on Movie
Maker. When I right click and press play on any of them, there is no video or
sound in the preview screen.
