    Windows Explorer can't find folder...

I installed Diamond's One-Touch Video Capture software to convert some of my
old VHS video to digital. When I capture video the program saves it to:
    C:\Program Files\One Touch Video Capture\MyVideos. Using the One-Touch
interface I can go to Open, C:\Program Files\One Touch Video Capture\MyVideos
and access my recorded .MPGs. However, strangely, I cannot get to that folder
via Windows Explorer. The One Touch Video Capture folder under C:\Program
    Files shows no sub-folder.

In Tools/Folder Options, I checked "Show hidden files and folders". When I
do a search for "MyVideos" folder or for ".MPG" I get "No items match your
search". The same happens if I search for one of the files by name.

This is the weirdest behavior I've ever seen in Windows Explorer. I'm using
    Vista Home Premium.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?

    Thanks.

so now you discovered that vista search is unreliable? lol
    its about time!

And to think that the MS idiots have made a version of windows search for
    XP!

XP users should NEVER install that crap!

Advice: there are many other free search tools available that DO NOT INDEX
files.. rather the search the old fashion way
    that is reliable.

All you need then is to categorize your data in a more logical manner and
searches become actually faster than windows search could ever be.

That way you only search for what you want in a subfolder....

also it would help to learn how to use asterisks to define search
    parameters.

If you donĂ¢€™t believe me that vista search is totally unreliable do some
research on Google and see what the world has to say.

I also dont like the search function in vista, because in xp, i used to
search for a result, and then click another folder to do further search or
task. But in vista, once i click somewhere else, the previous search results
    will go off!!

More over, i encountered this before --- Vista cant search file in subfolder
in a CD or DVD which is not a hidden file at all ! So i copied the entire
folder into harddisk, and managed to search the file. Thats really strange.

Besides, is the wildcard character like * still works in vista?

It is part of Microsoft's ill thought out and moronic so-called
"security" system. It is really smoke and mirrors. Surprise, while you
and One-Touch think it is writing to some location like in XP it
really is spoofing it and the reference is what's now called a
    junction point.

I know... crazy, it's nothing new either. What's really going on is
called a Symbolic link, old news and commonly used under the UNIX
operating system. Think of junction points as pointers. You can learn
    more here:

Okay, so I think I understand about junction points, but how do I find
    MyVideos folder in Windows Explorer?

Try to search in Documents and Settings\<Your name>
