diablo ii running slow with vista

I'm having a big problem with diablo 2 in vista, it was running great
until i sent it back to hp for problems, got it back after they wiped
harddrive and i reinstalled diablo 2 and LOD and it laaaags slow, the
mouse jumps around instead of flowing, i have uninstalled/reinstalled
game, changed mouse speed, changed display settings, lowered
requirements in the ingame options. None of it worked, i cant even play
the game in the directdraw option in the videotest, it wont play at all
in that setting, in direct3d setting. Its extremely frustrating.

Could someone advise me about fixing this? thanks

Do you know which video card is in your system? Mybe HP did not re-install
the latest video drivers, download them from its manufacturer's web site nce
you find which one it is... Click start/run and enter dxdiag.exe to get more
information and see if DX is running fine

yeah its the Nvidia GeForce 7000M/nForce610M, i went to the compaq
website and downloaded the driver i saw there for the display adaptor
for this laptop, still the same issue..i saw on here that a womans
fiance had the same sort of problem with her computer/game..i didnt want
to download that because her card was a different number to mine, does
    that matter?

Yo, find out what graphics card u have in ur laptop, forget nforce, don't worry about that

you say Nvidia 7000, so I am assuming you have the 7 series, which is anything starting with a
    7xxx

    goto www.nvidia.com

click download drivers, leave the top box, in series choose 7 series, in OS choose what windows
u have and if its 64 bit. Language u must choose. If you live in UK, choose UK, NOT US!!

search and download, run it, allow security warnings, then u will probably need to reboot, do
that, and u shud be good to go.

    hope that helps
