Vista's LAN properties not getting saved

My lan settings is not getting saved. I have a old laptop. I had configured the lan settings but due to some issue I am getting error while connectivity. The settings are not getting saved. I can see a small x icon on the lan properties. I tried to connect the same through wifi but that also did not helped much.

It is due to driver failure. Go in Device Manager and locate fresh drivers. It is not going to work unless you find proper drivers. That is the reason you are getting that error. Check your system model and then run driver update. It still it fails to connect then just for testing add Windows XP and run setup on the same.
