My Vista laptop freezed after performing Windows Update

I have a ASUS F3S series Notebook. I had performed some updates recently due to which my system started working very slow. I am using Windows Vista. Before installing updates things were quiet fine. There were no issue then the boot time was very low. But after that the boot time was affected. It takes high time to load. The same thing happen when I click on shutdown. I tried to went in Safe Mode to troubleshoot the issue. But it stucked on crcdisk.sys. It did not moved ahead at all. The recovery disc that I have with me are also useless I think.

One thing that I had not understand is about your recovery disc. You can restore your entire system by using them. Is there any recovery partition in your system. Perform a full system restore and then check back. It is better if you run a complete recovery process and then install only those updates which are required. Do not simply install each and everything. It will be useless.
