USB Mouse Not Recognized After Standby

Every time my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6000) resumes from standby, my USB mouse
(Wenger Diablo) comes up as an Unrecognized USB device. I have to unplug and
plug back in the USB receiver every time. The mouse works normally other
than this inconvenience. I run XP home on the laptop.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated.

You might have to disable the built in mouse on your laptop. because if you
didnt you computer is trying to load two mouse drivers at the same time. It
will always load the built in driver first before the add on mouse. If you
dont want to use the built in mouse i would try disabling it in the device
manager to see if this helps, because when you disable the built in mouse
drive the only other driver to load up is the add on and you should not have
to unplug it and plug it back in. if this dosent work try finding a driver
update for your add-on mouse or try reinstalling the current driver, and
again this all can be done from the device manager in the control panel.
