Scanner and Camera Wizard

My computer uses an Epson CX5200 all in one printer, and i use this with
epson smart panel to scan to OCR. The problem is that smart panel will not
allow thius because the scanner and camera wizard kicks in automatiaclly,
preventing me form scanning. Is there any way to stop the wizard doing this
so that I can edit the things I choose to scan?
