Driver Support for Promise Ultra 133 TX2 IDE

I have installed Windows Vista on my system and I am trying to find the Promise Ultra 133 TX2 IDE driver for this opearting system. It was previously supported in Windows XP without any issues, then why microsoft is not releasing its support for Windows Vista OS. Is there anyone who got this thing working on Vista? Thanks

You need to check the Promise website if they have supplied the drivers for the device, since the drivers are always provided by the manufacturer. So, when it is available to them then they give it to microsoft for addition, and later on you will get the same via windows update. You cannot get it in the Windows Vista dvd.

Download the Promise Ultra 133 TX2 IDE driver from the below attachment and then install it in the follow way:

1. First of all extract the file to hard drive. Right-click the .exe file and choose Properties.
2. After that under the Compatibility tab, please check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose "Windows Vista".
3. Now you have to check the box before “Run this program as an Administrator” below.
4. Next, you should click OK to save the settings.
5. After that just follow the instruction to install the driver, and test.
