Seagate FreeAgent Desktop Hard drive Windows Vista driver failure

I cannot use Seagate FreeAgent Desktop Hard drive on my system. I have a HP Pavilion DV9208NR notebook. It has Windows Vista Home Premium installed in the same. At first on my XP desktop when I connect it, it is auto-detected and the driver installs on its own. But in Vista the drive is detected but installation fails. The last message that I is the hardware is not installed properly. I cannot find any specific driver related to the external hard drive.

Did you checked the official website properly. You might find some relative driver on it. Vista cannot work on older drivers. I had seen a number of people who had faced serious driver installation issue while using any external media. There are some corrupt files which are causing the problem. Try rechecking the same and run Windows Update. Seagate offers Vista compatible drivers for such drives.
