    Remove USB Write Protection on Windows Vista

    After upgrading to Windows Vista, when I inserted my usb it is giving me a write protected error. I want backup some important data in the same. I am using Vista Home Premium. The same was never shown in XP. I had also does nothing related to write protection in the drive. How to remove it.

    A number of time this drives comes with some write protection switch. You can check that. And if there is nothing important in the drive then you can simply try to format the usb. It is the only way to get rid of that. I got stuck with similar kind of problem. I formatted the usb through cmd. This is basically a low level format. It worked after that.
