| Maxtor OneTouch II non detected on Windows Vista

I am having a Maxtor external hard drive and I am using the same on Vista. There is no driver issue at all. You need to check the cables. Ensure that it is working. Second change the port and test the same at different port. You can run a manual setup of the hardware, by installing it through new hardware wizard. |

This is bit shocking. What happens when you connect the usb drive. Does there any popup on the lower right of system saying that Vista founded a new hardware. Basically there is a kind of unknown device listed in Device Manager and you need to update drivers for the same. Because that it the only thing that really works. |
