    Adaptec 2940 series x64 drivers

I have recently bought a new Adaptec 2940 series which is a PCI to Ultra Wide SCSI adapter that provides connections for up to 15 wide UltraSCSI devices and transfers data at up to 40 MBytes/sec. I have a CD/DVD drive that are setup in the SCSI mode only and they dont seem to respond any more. So, can anyone help me out with some drivers that will work in Windows Vista? Thanks

You can try to choose the driver manually and then use the Adaptec AIC-7870 PCI SCSI Controller which should be emulated. It usually works with Windows server 2008. I had the same problem but after following the same steps I got it to working properly. You can also try to copy it from the Windows XP or Win2003 folder or can use the 2940UA and install the standard 2940 family drivers by going into Control Panel and then Add Hardware >> choose SCSII controller >> choose 2940 family drivers and ignore the warning. Give it a try and I assure that it will work for anyone.
