There is NO driver out for that yet - not sure, if there will be.

I suggest NOT holding your breath. while waiting.
H*ll may freeze over.

Kicks self for buying a "off" brand (Although, buying *BIG
NAME* brands seems no better).
Was there any question that Vista *was* going to be released the
moment CPP hit? All these dense suppliers that did not have working
drivers +ready+ by release day, don't care to support older hardware.

32-bit version is downloadable here:
http://www.siliconimage.com/support/...ctid=2&osid=4&

SiI0680/0680A 32-bit Windows RAID Driver 1.0.1.7 1/24/2005 139 KB

It's the WinXP 32-bit driver - but works perfectly in Vista

I used it for 6-months during Vista betas, and RTM - no problems at all

x64-bit version is available here:
http://www.siliconimage.com/support/...ctid=2&osid=8&

It's the SiI 0680/0680A 64-bit Windows RAID Driver 1.0.0.0 12/16/2005 635 KB version

It's the WinXP 64-bit driver - but works perfectly in Vista - used without a problem since beginning of December 2006 when I re-installed Vista x64 (from 32bit, using the above driver)

Don't believe anyone who says things aren't available - they just haven't tried hard enough.

Have you tried to MANAGE your Sil 0680 RAID?
The Medley manager does not work (CPP->RC2 x86 )
The Sil 0680a CPL tool hangs.

Yes, the 'driver' allows me to use the drive(s), AS IS.
What good is an un-managed RAID set?

Koutech (my Sil 0680 based board manufacturer), indicated that NO
Vista tools were available, *Yet*.
*Yet*, is getting longer.

For now I'm just happy, I have access to my drives, where I store my
downloads etc.
Haven't had any issues with the set since I set it up under XP...
If I really need to fiddle with it, I'll just boot to my XP and do it under
that.

During initial Vista Setup, did you press F6 and supply the Sil0860
driver?
If Not, Try running "Repair" from the DVD and install the Sil driver
then.

I installed vista 32bit and xp pro with dual boot.
It went well but the vista can't find my IDE DRIVES. 3 ide drives in my PC on card. I got the Silicon Image sill 0680 ultra-133 medley ata raid controller card.
I got 1 SATA is main and 3 ide drives in my PC
With xp is ok show all ide drives.

I had to do update IDE card bios for vista. It fixed up my problem but One of my drive is missing and other drives are there. It is happening in both operate system xp and vista
My drive is 120gig

I installed this driver
http://www.siliconimage.com/support/...tid=2&osid=10&

And I updated card bios -

Medley v1.2.0.5 works for me perfectly on both Vista 32-bit & 64-bit.
Setup/Load/Configuration & Monitoring are all working 100%. (if I could post
a screencap I would!) My Vista's are always clean installs. The last version
released is downloadable from
http://www.siliconimage.com/docs/SiI...iICfg-1205.zip

For those not familiar with Medley, you don't need it by default - it just
provides some feedback and SMART monitoring ability - which is built into
Vista performance/reliability monitor now. Vista now also defaults to the
fastest UDMA mode for the controller - so you don't need it for maximum
performance.

The link to the drivers you sent are for NON-RAID versions of the card - but
you indicate you have a RAID controller. If you use my links, it will be seen
as a RAID controller, not the IDE version with 3 independent drivers attached.

The other important thing is not to flash the RAID BIOS with the NON-RAID
update (v3.2.2.0) - as this will* also convert the RAID controller into a
standard IDE controller.

* There are two main flavours of the Sil0680 card - one with a jumper which
you can manually set RAID or IDE, and one without. If you have a version
without, then it relies on the BIOS info to enable or disable the RAID
functions - which is why you MUST NOT flash a RAID controller with a NON-RAID
(ie IDE) BIOS. If the POST/BIOS boot screens on your PC still show the
controller as a RAID one, then you're fine as far as the BIOS goes - just use
the drivers I linked to, and you'll get RAID under Vista.

Unfortunately, the link you left contains several IDE (non-raid) BIOS
updates. The last official RAID BIOS version was v3.2.1.0. However, of you
have the version of the card with the Jumper, then you can actually use the
later v3.2.2.24 (!use at your own risk! !you break it - tough luck! )

So, in brief - All versions of Vista (32-bit & x64) work with the 0680 Sil
Controller, as well as the medley monitoring software.

I have a Abit AA8XE-3rd Eye motherboard and a Teac DVD-ROM drive (DVD Teac DV-516E ) on sil 0680 raid controller
The problem come with Windows Vista.
In SiliconImage Site (http://www.siliconimage.com/support/...tid=2&osid=10&) there are no driver support for raid controller for Windows Vista (at this moment only Base Driver is available) So i have flashed (http://www.siliconimage.com/support/...ctid=2&osid=0&) my sil 0680 raid controller with SiI0680A IDE BIOS (base Bios) for converting it in a no-raid controller
My results:

Bios version 3.2.24 (version for RAID and NO RAID) with driver for vista (downloaded from windows update):
F3 message(Press F3 to enter RAID utility) don't appear during boot , in Vista device manager the controller is installed but no access to cd-dvd rom teac (it don't appear in my computer resources)

Bios vers 3.2.20 for raid controller and no vista driver (don't available):
F3 message appear,in vista device manager, appear RAID controller but with no driver available, teac dvdrom no available.

Bios vers 3.2.20 for IDE controller and Driver vers 1.2.26.0 by SiliconImage:
NO RAID controller,in Vista device manager the controller is installed but teac dvdrom no available in computer resources

Conclusion: with any bios and driver no optical disc available

I have tried to install XP drivers for RAID controller In Windows Vista with my initial Bios but Computer freeze for updating

Can you help me?

i have read your post about the sil 680 ctrl and i need the drivers you wrote about but the two links are no longer availabel, so please can you send me thes two diver for my controller .

Incorrect, BIOS version v3.2.24 is NOT for RAID - is disables RAID on cards
which do not have a jumper on the card that allows you to manually change
RAID/IDE compatibility.

That is the expected behaviour for a NON-RAID controller. You have turned
your RAID controller into a standard IDE controller - so you won't get any
"F3" option. This is exactly what to expect as you flashed it with v3.2.24
NON-RAID firmware.

Sorry, I've never used the IDE version of the card, or the IDE only drivers.

The forum that you are using is really leaching off of USENET - and so the
majority of people reading your post cannot see any prior parts of the
message thread. I hope that Lilo is able to help you, but if not, you may
want to start a new thread and post all the details you can about your
device.

Re: Silicon Image sill 0680 ultra-133 medley ata raid controller [

Do you know of any BIOSes for this card that recognize the jumper? I've tried every BIOS from 3.2.00 (RAID) through 3.400 (non-RAID), but none changes operation when the jumper setting is changed. The jumper does work and toggles pin 80 of the chip. Also all the non-RAID BIOSes are coded with the RAID setup menu.
