HP PhotoSmart 7150

Has anyone got hp 7150 working on vista 32

HP do not have vista drivers for this model and cant seem to get working

Without Vista drivers, frankly, you are unlikely to get it working.

It works fine here using the in-box 7200 drivers. You need to switch the
port to USB Printing instead from DOT3. This takes some playing around in
Device Manager.

Seriously could you outline what you had to do.

My HP Business email alerts I signed for just in gives references to several
very similar documents for troubleshooting problems particularly with
scanners and A-I-Os

Don't knock it for starting with "is it plugged in" -- It's not unknown <g>

See my note to John Speros in this thread on a document on the HP
website for troubleshooting initial problems.

I'm a bit fuzzy on the actual procedure. After you unsuccessfully try
installing the printer, go to Device Manager and you will see two 1284.n
drivers for the HP printer when you connect the printer to a USB port. You
need to change the driver for the second of these in Device Manager to "USB
Printing Support" (saying "Let me pick" the driver). You should eventually
see "USB Printing Support" listed under "Universal Serial Bus controllers."
When you install the drivers, use the port "USB001-Virtual printer port for
USB." Do not use the port "DOT4-HP Photosmart 7150 series Printer." For a
driver, use the inbox Vista HP Photosmart 7200 series driver.

I'm OK with my PS 8250 but I do support elsewhere so it's good to know.

after a clean install of Vista Ultimate.
