Need video drivers for Intel 810/810e/815/815e series video card

I have a dell system that has an intel 810/810e/815/815e series graphics and I have installed windows vista on it. Now the problem is with the resolution, since i am able to get only 8 bit 800x600 display on it. I have tried searching for its driver from many sites, even the dell website but I couldnt find the Vista driver for it. And since this machine is pretty old, I dont want to put another graphics card on it, it will be just waste of money. Can anyone tell me how to get proper display resolution on this machine.

Well, until Intel or Dell doesnt release Vista compatible driver for this Intel 810 based graphics, we are out of luck. But in any case, have you tried installing the xp driver in Vista in compatability mode, to do the same, simply right click on the exe file and go to properties and then click on Compatability tab and in the given option tick mark "XP" and apply and install. You can also try to install the drivers after disabling limited user mode. Or otherwise tell the driver to be installed directly from the folder which has the .inf driver file. Check all this things and let us know if you succeeded or not.

I was able to install the Inter Embedded Graphic Driver IEGD 5.1 on my system and I was able to get 32 bit color mode in 1280x1024 resolution as well, although the OS will still ask for a video controller driver to be installed, I hope that i get a solution to get rid of this problem with an upcoming fix from somebody which is really irritating.

I have now been able to hack vista with the IEGD 5.1 drivers (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/conf...&Dwnldid=15502) downloaded from the Intel website. Thanks to all of the former posts and especially to richard who I've quoted in my last post. Here are the instructions step by step. The trick to this issue is this. First you must install the setup file located in the utilities folder. After it is finished vista will say that it did not install correctly. Than you must go to the device manager, select the Display Adapter and update the driver. Search for the "Driver" folder in the IEGD_5_1_Windows extracted folder and select the "SSIGD" file. Loads up fine with True 32-bit color and has a display resolution of up to 1280x1024 pixels.
