Vista driver for Mustek 1200 UB Plus scanner

I have use Mustek 1200 UB Plus scanner. Unfortunatelly I can't found any
compatabile Vista driver for him. :(
Mustek website do not provide Vista drivers at present (I ask them).
Had somebody same problem?
Please suggest some solution or reply any comments.

I have the same problem: no vista driver and can't get the XP version to
install or work. On the other hand I've been thinking about getting a newer,
faster, scanner for a while now ...

Try the software found here, it seems to work in Vista for about 500
different scanner models. You might need to install the author's generic
scanners.inf file as well

Unfortunately Musetek is among the short list of scanners NOT supported by
VueScan. :-(

Anybody has found a vista driver for Mustek 600 usb scanner ?

You put 1200 UB in the subject line but are asking about a 600. Which are
you looking for? If it is the 600-CP that scanner is too old. Mustek has
drivers for it for Win95, NT, and Win98 only. The Product Guide for the
1200 UB Plus lists drivers for Win98, ME, 2000, and XP but nothing for
Vista. This scanner may be too old for Mustek to do Vista drivers.

If you can't find a driver, then investigate VueScan (google it). May do the
job. HTH James :-)

VueScan doesn't support Mustek scanners *at all*.

I've just installed a Mustek 1200 CU scanner on Vista.

I used the XP driver from the Mustek website.

You have to temporarily edit the registry to make the installer think you have XP

In regedit, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version
Find the "product name" key. Carefully record what it says before you start. (eg paste it into a document somewhere).

Then change it to make it read: Microsoft Windows XP

Then run the Mustek XP installer, and change the registry key back to saying Vista.

The scanner works fine in Photoshop, for example, but the Vista scanning wizard doesn't detect the scanner. Don't think it uses TWAIN?
