No Sound, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card not recognized

I'm running Vista RC1 and am having a problem getting the sound to work.
When I first install Vista, I had no sound card in the computer, but did have
the onboard sound from the motherboard. This apparently installed correctly,
but I head nothing when I plug in my headphones.

I next put my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum card into my computer and
fired up Vista. I was expecting the little "Windows found new hardware"
pop-up to show, but it didn't. I've tried using the computer to scan for new
hardware, but Vista doesn't find my sound card. The Vista drivers from
Creative fail to find the card also.

If anyone has a suggestion, I'd be greatly appreciative.

Try mannualy adding the drivers from the device manager
and point the updating to the creative extracted folder

I finally got it to recognize my sound card but now I don't have any sound!

RE: No Sound, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card not recognized

I think the issue is the upgrade from Beta 2 to RC1 as I struggled with this
issue for a week. I finally gave in and did a clean install of RC1 and then
installed the beta drivers off Creative’s site. After clicking through
dozens of pop-up warnings I suddenly had sound. (Before a reboot) I did
disable signed drivers (F8) before installing. It was a pain to reinstall
but I’m better off with a clean RC1 install and now I have sound and it was
worth it.

Re: No Sound, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card not recognized

Hi.
I had the same kind of problem, upgrade from B2 to RC1, and my Audigy 2
stopped work.
Solved by re-installing the Audigy software.
I'm listening to it now in 4.1 configuration
Regards

RE: No Sound, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card not recognized

So I upgraded to build 5728 (64-bit) and once again no sound… This is very
frustrating to say the least. I tried to reinstall but no luck. I’m
guessing a clean install and install the Creative drivers. Does anyone have
any suggestions before I reinstall?
