| linksys wireless-g usb network adaptor
i'be been using linksys wireless-g usb network adaptor WUSB54G ver. 4 as my primary internet connection. after installing vista beta 2, i found that there is no driver for the device even asking from linksys. they said will release a driver any time soon, but there is no way to use vista beta 2 for me now. i think beta 2 has very bad driver support. i remembered when the xp was in beta, driver support for new hardware isn't a problem. sighs |

many people have the same problem. The companies will not do the drivers for vista with the actual hardware... you know, they want you buy new hardware, and these will have drivers for Vista. i think they have to do the drivers at least for recent hardware, or otherwise customers will lose confidence to buy their products, and affect the company image. instant for me, i am so shocked when i heard there is no vista driver for linksys (a cisco company) latest networking product. this is shame for cisco i think. Linksys has horrible driver support. They were the last network company to come out with 64bit drivers. There are people around the net who write their own drivers. I would say do a google search. -- AMD-FX-60 2gb OCZ Plat. memory ATI 1800 AIW 2x74gb Raptors in RAID-0 2x400gb WD HDD in RAID-1 Epox Nvidia-4 Ultra M/B Senior Member Overclockers.com "Andrew Loh" wrote: > i'be been using linksys wireless-g usb network adaptor WUSB54G ver. 4 as my > primary internet connection. after installing vista beta 2, i found that > there is no driver for the device even asking from linksys. they said will > release a driver any time soon, but there is no way to use vista beta 2 for > me now. i think beta 2 has very bad driver support. > > i remembered when the xp was in beta, driver support for new hardware isn't > a problem. sighs |

It has the update driver for Vista. It finds it right away on Windows Update (Cisco/Linksys WUB54G). |

Hi Chris, there is a vista driver in driverguide for linksys wireless-g usb, but the driver actually is the same one in linksys website, it can't install into vista beta 2. Hi Chris again, If you are unsure about it, pls do not said it like truth. I've spent 3 hrs to move my PC to the location of my Broandband router and do the windows update and try to find the driver online in the Vista Beta 2. However, the case is the same. The driver just can't install into Vista. You just waste my time. Sorry for impolite but I really weird about this you know. Where do you get the vista driver for the WUSB54G? I have been unable to find anything on Windows Update or even where to access that website. Thanks! Im Having a even getting connected to DNS with my Linksys WRT54G V 5.0 it really seems odd that a Cisco Company would not have drivers yet, I did a live chat last night with one of thier techs and she didn't even seem to know what vista even was. If anyone finds a work around or anything plese let me know Thanks "Andrew Loh" wrote: > i think they have to do the drivers at least for recent hardware, or > otherwise customers will lose confidence to buy their products, and affect > the company image. > > instant for me, i am so shocked when i heard there is no vista driver for > linksys (a cisco company) latest networking product. this is shame for cisco > i think. > > > "Jordi Maycas" wrote: > > > many people have the same problem.
