Towards a new Crysis? In any case, this is what we believe could be going for a ride on www.crysis-thegame.com. Crytek seems determined to give much ink to flow around a certain Crysis Warhead.
Simple extension for Crysis first name, or simply as the console version (Playstation 3, Xbox 360), we do not know much at the moment, but the announcement of this new episode could partly explain the decision by the German developer regarding the cancellation of the updated 1.3 for Crysis.
Speculation will therefore go well in the coming days on this Crysis Warhead. All we have to wait a little until the official announcement, unless you prefer to play the "F5" on this famous page teaser.
Crysis Warhead
Developer Crytek and publisher Electronic Arts have officially announced the second entry in the Crysis series of sci-fi shooters. Due out this fall, Crysis Warhead will arrive exclusively on PCs . Crys is Warhead is the first title to be developed at Crytek´s Budapest studio, and is built on a new, of CryENGINE 2, the technology that powered the original.Crysis,is one of the most critically-acclaimed first person shooters and PC games of 2007.
We were very pleased with the reception of Crysis from both gamers and media after our launch last year,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek. “That being said, one of the key principles of our studio is to always raise the bar. With Warhead, we are focusing on refining our storytelling and game performance, while also delivering more of the visually stunning graphics and immersive, free-roaming gameplay everyone loved in Crysis.”
“The best result of a partnership that we can ask for in the EA Partners program is when a world class independent studio like Crytek chooses to continue to work with us,” said David DeMartini, Vice President and Global General Manager, EA Partners. "Crysis was an amazing game and is going to be a blockbuster franchise. We could not be more excited to be working with Crytek to launch another hit with Crysis Warhead this year.”
Crysis: Warhead will be the first game officially developed by Crytek's newly formed Budapest studio and will once again be released through a partnership with Electronic Arts. Surprisingly, the game is slated for a fall 2008 launch, so you won't actually have to wait all that long to return to Crysis's violent island world.
In Crysis Warhead, players will don the Nanosuit of Sergeant Sykes one of the most memorable characters from Crysis.Expanding on the story of the original, Warhead follows Sergeant "Psycho" Sykes as he tackles the other side of the island during the time of the first game.More brash and aggressive than his Delta Force squadmate Nomad, players will experience Psycho’s parallel story during the events of the original game finding that life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than they ever could have imagined. Luckily, Psycho's Nanosuit is just as capable and he's equipped with an even bigger arsenal of fully customizable weapons and new vehicles, giving players access to the tools they need to dominate any situation.
Crysis Warhead has not yet been rated by the ESRB or PEGI. For more information about the game, please visit www.crysisthegame.com.
