True to their word, Capcom has released a new trailer for Resident Evil 5. The game itself is currently slated for a 2009 release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

The trailer features more gameplay than we’ve seen so far,lots of mob action with some really complex crowds. Its good to see the old chainsaw back although I’m not sure what to thing of the continuation of the action prompts. This seems like a much more complex game than what he had seen before.

The trailer itself shows some graphically impressive shots of Chris Redfield going through zombie-infested areas, blowing - and sometimes slicing - the undead to bits.We also finally discover who the mysterious female character from the latest screenshots was, apparently an African agent of some kind. It’s very clear in the trailer that Chris Redfield will be facing the same virus that appeared in Resident Evil 4.

So, the trailer's here, but the countdown on ResidentEvil.com has yet to completely wind down. Last we checked, there was still almost an hour left on the bottom timer. For now, enjoy the new trailer below.
