Ubidays 2008 in Paris, Ubisoft released the first teaser trailer for the first sequel to the 2003 cult classic, Beyond Good & Evil. The trailer clearly shows that the game will be sporting some nice, new next-generation graphics. While it is unclear at this point if the trailer was rendered or used the game engine, it was still quite nice.

Opening with a view of two moons, the camera panned down to reveal a barren desert landscape, little to be seen aside from clumps of gnarled trees and a broken-down vehicle. The teaser video, titled “I the Pig”, showcases BG &E’s two staring characters, Jade and her alien pig friend Pey’J, stranded on the side of the road on some alien world. Jade, sitting every so calmly in a meditative position on the hood of the trunk, while Pey’J is killing time sleeping in the front of the car after he had clearly failed to fix the car. Disturbed by a fly, Pey’J goes on to suck it into his massive pig snout, claiming that it was the 50th one he had eaten already, before going back to sleep.

This game looks great! The graphics are on par with most everything that came out at the time, despite most of Ubisoft's money being spent on other projects at the time The sound effects are very well recorded, having echoes where echoes are needed and having very good quality in general. ther were no complaints in regard to the sound effects. Some of it is just background music that rocks. It's not something you'd listen to if you weren't playing a game or anything, but it's great. The plot was pretty decent. However, it was nothing huge and didn't excite to find out what happens next or anything. Only about a third of the game will actually motivate you to continue playing through the PLOT itself.
