Crysis

Crysis is expected to become a trillogy.

Crysis is a new first person shooter being developed by Crytek, the makers of the award-winning Far Cry. The game is to be released (hopefully) in Q4, 2007 and will be published under EA Games.

Players take the role of Jake Dunn, a United States Delta Force Soldier sent into a mysterious island in the South China Sea to investigate an unidentified flying object that has crash in the area.

Crysis is highly anticipated, as it will be one of the first Direct X 10 games. Some of the technology it will utilize include dynamic day/night cycle, fully interactive environments, sun rays and diffuse transmission, real time soft shadows, soft particles, interactive/destructible environments, volumetric clouds, and advanced shader technology. Crysis is set in the year 2019 when a giant asteroid type object hits an island (in Spratly Island chain) in the South China Sea. (Much of the Island in Crysis is however modeled of the islands of Hawaii).

North Korea, who have become quite a force in the world arrive first onto the island after being informed of an unidentified flying object. After blockading the island they soon discover a large mysterious asteroid. Shortly after, the US also sends in a Delta Force squad to investigate. (You play as Jake Dunn, who is a member of this squad).

Things turn bad quickly though, as there is still intense rivalry between the two nations. While tempers flare and fighting occurs between the North Koreans and Americans, the asteroid opens up revealing a large alien ship. The ship encloses itself inside a large sphere causing a large part of the island to become frozen (including anyone who was unlucky enough to get caught in it's reach) and also causes variances in the weather. The Alien enemy brings with it some extremely high tech and dangerous weapons - to such an extent that the North Koreans and Americans join forces. At this point, the player must fight their way through a raft of different environments and enemies to save the world.

DirectX 10 support has been abandoned due to time constraints and hardware availability in time for the games release. There is no expected patch for this.

Alan Wake

The game tells the tale of the titular character, a writer who begins having weird dreams soon after meeting his girlfriend, Alice. From these dreams comes a story that he crafts into a novel (actually, it's more like the book almost writes itself) that becomes an instant bestseller. Everything seems to be going fine until Alice disappears one day, and Alan begins to notice that the events leading up to her disappearance mirror what's happening in his dreams. As he searches for Alice, he becomes an insomniac, as the line between his dreams and reality starts to blur. It's for this reason that he heads to a sleep clinic in Bright Falls, Washington, a sleepy (pun intended) little town in the Cascade Mountains.




Unreal Tournament 3

Unreal Tournament 3 (previously codenamed 'Envy' and otherwise known as Unreal Tournament 2007) is Epic Games' sequel to Unreal Tournament 2004. Published by Midway Games, UT3 is powered by Epic's new Unreal Engine 3, and is due to be released on PC and PlayStation 3 in the second quarter (April-June) of 2007. The gametypes present in the new title reflect the blend of old and new. UT2004's Onslaught makes a triumphant return, along with the classic Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and CTF modes.





Hellgate: London

Age of Conan

Age of Conan is an Massively Multiplayer Online Game set in the Conan universe as created by Robert E Howard.

The gameplay will be very action orientated, and while you will find the standard RPG skill sets in there, from thieves with nimble fingers to pick the stoutest locks to Demonologists torturing the souls of their enemies, the system itself will be very much based around fast reaction gaming.





Company of Heroes

Available: Now (DX10 support requires latest patch), expansion now available with DX10 support.

BioShock

BioShock takes place in a mysterious genetic laboratory. Other than that the complex is strewn with corpses (also for reasons unknown), nothing is clear to you. From what you can tell, the laboratory complex is apparently a holdover from World War II--you'll see remnants of the war as well as peeling paint throughout the complex. Something apparently happened back then that caused the complex to be abandoned by whoever was using it. In fact, the complex has only recently come back into use by the scientists circa the early 21st century, and advanced, top-secret contraptions used for arcane biotechnology experiments have been hastily bolted into the rotting walls of the complex.





Eve Online

Age of Conan is not DirectX 10 as of today. You had the option in Beta for either directx 9 or 10, but that was disabled once it went live.

They were having issues with DirectX 10, but should hopefully fix them in the upcoming months.

The new, enhanced DX10 version of Age of Conan will be premiered at Games Convention in Leipzig in August 2008.
