Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor clicking play button nothing happens So I recently bought Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor game from Steam. I was really surprised to see that it was a huge download of 35gb approximately. After completely the downloading and installing of this game in 1 and half days finally I thought that I am going to enjoy playing this game. But after clicking on the Play button I get a message saying that "preparing to launch" and then nothing happens, I am returned back to Steam page again. The game will not launch at all. What is going on here? Can anyone tell me how to fix this bug? Thanks |

Re: Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor clicking play button nothing happens There was a fix given by a user on the Steam Community. What you need to do is go to the installation directory which might be C:\Program Files\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\ShadowOfMordor\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\ and then run vcredist_x64.exe file. After that it will ask you to repair or uninstall, just pick Repair. Now you will be able to run the game without any issues either by clicking on the Play button from Steam page or by double clicking the game.exe file. |

Re: Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor clicking play button nothing happens Incase the above solution doesnt work then you will have to make a new folder and 3 text files in it with the name game.ini, render.cfg and settings.cfg files. After that edit that in notepad and paste the below settings in the respective text files: render.cfg: "Render.Setting.AmbientOcclusionQuality" "0.000000" "Render.Setting.AspectRatioLock" "1.000000" "Render.Setting.AutoDetectedGPURating" "4.000000" "Render.Setting.AutoDetectionVersion" "1.000000" "Render.Setting.DepthofFieldToggle" "1.000000" "Render.Setting.FrameRateLimit" "2.000000" "Render.Setting.LightingQuality" "2.000000" "Render.Setting.MeshQuality" "3.000000" "Render.Setting.MotionBlurQuality" "0.000000" "Render.Setting.OITToggle" "1.000000" "Render.Setting.ShadowQuality" "2.000000" "Render.Setting.TessellationToggle" "1.000000" "Render.Setting.TextureFiltering" "3.000000" "Render.Setting.TextureQuality" "3.000000" "Render.Setting.VegetationQuality" "4.000000" game.ini: [Game] Build=Build 1636 settings.cfg: "DeviceAdapter" "0.000000" "DeviceOutput" "0.000000" "ScreenHeight" "1080.000000" "ScreenWidth" "1920.000000" "UIHeight" "0.000000" "UIWidth" "0.000000" "VSyncOnFlip" "0.000000" "Windowed" "0.000000" After that go in the game installation directory which will be Program Files\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\ShadowOfMordor\x64 and then run ShadowOfMordor.exe as admin. |

Re: Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor clicking play button nothing happens Try verifying the game cache and see if that works:
