PC games with good story lines

Which are the PC games with good story lines, I’ll be on a long vacation soon as I am going to my cousins place. I am not that fond of playing games but I do like playing games that have good story lines. So suggest me some old and latest games that fall in good story line category. I’ll check out couple of one’s after going through your suggestions, just help me pick up the best ones, thanks in advance.

In latest games I think below games have good story lines:
Max Payne 1, 2 and 3
Prototype 1 and 2
Assassin's Creed series
Batman: Arkham series
Max Payne and Prototype are my all time favorite.

+ For Max Payne 1, 2 and 3, other than that I think following ones have very good story line. You’ll not get bored of playing for sure.

Let me know if there are better ones, I am aware of Max Payne but I haven’t checked out Prototype 2 and Assassin's Creed II. Hope they stand for their story line.

Farcry 3 has good story line. Though there are no twists and surprises, the way in which the events occur are great. Also the bad guy Vaas Montenegro is great and gives an edge to the plot.
You can try Call of Duty: Black Ops which also has a good story line. The twist in the end is again great where we realize truth about Viktor Reznov.
Even Fallout 3 is great. It doesn't have a cut scene based story line, but the interactions you do with other characters is like progressive story.
You can also try Harry Potter Games, it has a great story line.
