means can i save the game manually in the gameplay like in max payne 2.

You cant save the game progress in middle of sleeping dogs as you are not allowed to quit the game in between.

You are allowed to save the game progress after completing specific task. So if you will continue the game from your last saved game and quit the game before qualifying the task for saving the game further, your game progress wont be stored and you will have to start the game again from your last saved game. Hope that's clear.
