Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer isn’t good compared to Ghost Recon Online

I had played Ghost Recon online on my Xbox 360 some months ago and I had loved that game. It was an awesome game that needed the player to come up with an excellent strategy to beat the opponent’s team. It had numerous maps and the controls were great, this all would give an awesome feeling of playing a game in a multiplayer mode. It was based on micro-transaction, which is one needed to buy certain objects with real money if they wish to own it. Today I played Ghost Recon: Future Soldier in multiplayer mode and I felt that it was completely a different game as compared to Ghost Recon Online. There were only two maps to play in, also all the weapons were those which were unlocked in the single player campaign and also the controls weren’t that smooth as they used to be in Ghost Recon Online. Has anybody played both the games? Did they feel the big difference between the two games, which is Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Ghost Recon Online?

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer isn’t good compared to Ghost Recon Online

Yes, the first thing that I noticed in the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s multiplayer mode was lacking the class system that existed in the Ghost Recon Online. In Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, we have three classes of players, which are The Assault, The Engineer and The Scout. As the name suggests, the Assault class will be equipped with machine guns and SMGs. These players have a high amount of health and they can do a good amount of damage to the enemy. They are the leader of the packs as they can open up a good attack on the enemy. If the player using the character of this class, then with a good accuracy and judgment, he can easily control the opponents in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The Engineer class works as a specialist who provides a good support to the team. Using the gadgets he is equipped with, he can track down the enemies and also mark their positions. He can perform this even if there is a solid wall between him and the enemy. He is usually equipped with short range weapons like shotgun. Since he can track down enemies, it is wise for the player to choose the injured target and then fight him. The last class is the scout, he is equipped with a sniper rifle and first duty is to provide a defensive cover and backup in case of overpowering opponent. He should be placed at such points where he can view the whole fight area and mark most of the opponents. His Sniper rifle is strong enough to produce one hit kill and his camouflage is capable of hiding him very efficiently.

These classes that I mentioned for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier does not exist in Ghost Recon Online except for The Assault class. Ghost Recon Online had The Specialist and The Recon class which are not in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The Specialist is the class which would break the opponents attack before they can perform it. The Recon class is similar to The Scout class in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. They are equipped with a sniper rifle and they can shoot at a range. But here, one shot one kill was guaranteed only if the bullet hit target’s head and not on the body. In Ghost Recon Online, every class had two special abilities which could change game even if they are on the downside. The Assault class had had special powers called ‘Blitz’ and “Heat’. In Blitz, when activated, the player would get a shield which could deflect bullets fired at him. Also running with an active shield towards an enemy will knock him down giving an easy chance to kill him. The Heat was a very powerful ability but also most difficult to use. Opponents who came in range of the Heat ability would be disabled and would not be able to move shoot or use their abilities. Similarly, the Specialist class can use Blackout power which disturbs the sight of opponents and renders their weapons useless for few seconds. The second power that the Specialist class has is Aegis. This power creates a bubble shield within a specific diameter of The Specialist class player. The friendly players within this shield cannot be attacked by bullets. Also The Recon had abilities like Active Camouflage which could be used to sneak in the group of enemies and kill them. The other ability is named Oracle which can be used to scan an area and to mark the opponents there. This whole class system with is missing in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Also the class system present in this game is not mush of use as you can have all assaulters in your team and play efficiently.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer isn’t good compared to Ghost Recon Online

The gun and the weapons part of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Ghost Recon Online are very different too. Actually, the gun selection and modification is very complicated in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier as compared to the other game. Ubisoft said that they will be putting a large number of guns in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, but unfortunately, the number is just few guns higher than Ghost Recon Online. I think that Ubisoft has got a misconception about numbers. They have provided around 10 to 12 different textures for every gun. Counting a same gun but differently painted as two separate guns don’t count as different weapons. Also the modification is somewhat illogical in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. I don’t know how anyone can put a gas system in gun to increase the fire rate first and then semi-automatic firing trigger. This means that player first increased the rate of fire and then realized, that gun is designed to load every single bullet separately in the nozzle. There should have been some method where to use a specific part, you need to first install another part. In this game, weapons for multiplayer are divided into two factions. Thus, the existing numbers of guns are again divided into half. By this rate, the first gun that I unlocked in multiplayer mode of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was after level 20. The gun system in Ghost Recon Online was different. It was simple and flat, there were no fancy floating models of the gun. The pictures were flat and simple. The attributes of the gun would be depicted in numbers and diagrams. Also the guns were properly divided according to the class selected by the player. Also many weapons of higher level in Ghost Recon Online have some unique abilities. This whole thing is missing in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer isn’t good compared to Ghost Recon Online

The main difference in the multiplayer mode of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Ghost Recon Online is the design of the maps. The only two maps available in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has a vast area and also there are many places to hide. Thus, one can freely roam on the map without having to encounter opponents much of the time. In Ghost Recon online, after a player died, he would spawn only at a specific spawn point. But here in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, one can spawn at the designated spawn point as well as at the place where another live team mate is present. This new system has eliminated the challenging part where the strategy of the team is broken because of their wait for respawned team mate. Also the maps in Ghost Recon Online were like narrow rooms in linear pattern. Thus, most of the times both the teams would meet each other in the middle of the map to create a large fighting zone. The reason for such a map design was to make the player use most of his ability to the fullest. Also Ghost Recon Online had sound signals which could be used to notify the team mates about opponent using a special power. This could be used against or for the benefit of the team. If the enemy overheard you sending your team mates warnings about oncoming abilities, they could change their plan and use another tactic.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer isn’t good compared to Ghost Recon Online

I have played both the games, which is Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Ghost Recon Online. I found that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is far faster paced than the other one. Ghost Recon Online is a tactic base game and one needed to think twice before taking some step. Also it needed one to regularly use abilities which resulted in slow pace. But here in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, all one has to do is to pick up the gun and go on shooting any enemy that comes into sight. One can win the game even without taking any cover to protect oneself. I think that all the efforts put in by Ubisoft to design the cover system for multiplayer mode of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has gone wasted. Also you will find that in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the camera is not locked in the multiplayer mode. In Ghost Recon Online, the camera was pretty simple over the shoulder one. The camera not being locked had advantage that we would be able to scan the whole area easily. But it had more drawbacks then positive side. It has become difficult to sneak behind the enemy and kill opponent of short range as one keeps rotating camera in whole 360 degree circle. Many times I have noticed that I am sneaking behind an enemy and he has camera watching in one direction and character watching in another. In such situation, when he tries to shoot me, it creates such a creepy animation that it seems characters don’t have spinal cords.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer isn’t good compared to Ghost Recon Online

Another major differences in the combat style between Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Ghost Recon Online is that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier features, one hit kill using melee attack. I know that it seems realistic, but when it comes to gaming, it doesn’t suits this kind of game. In Ghost Recon Online, we had a melee attack, but they didn’t used to kill the enemy in one hit. This was good as one player would be dominating and suddenly his ammunition ends. So now he had to rely on melee weapon, but here in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, one can reach near the opponent and kill him directly using the knife. I too think that Ghost Recon Online had better multiplayer gameplay as compared to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
