Low FPS when playing Diablo 3 with EVGA GTX 460 SC

I have downloaded Diablo 3 and installed in my computer. When I start playing Diablo 3 game I get very low frame rate. I closed the game, check and killed unwanted background processes and started playing game but still the same problem. I have reinstalled Diablo 3 game in my computer but after that also same problem takes place.

My system spec are Gigabyte motherboard, Intel Core i7 processor, Evga GTX 460 SC graphic card, 4GB RAM and GX-750W - Cooler Master PSU. I am using windows 7 operating system in my computer. now please tell me what should I do to solve this problem?

First of all i will suggest you to check whether you have all latest required drivers in your system including your graphic drivers. Also check which Direct X version is installed in your computer? I am telling you this because if you are not using latest graphic drivers and latest DirectX in your computer then it can be affect on the game performance. You have to also try to run the Diablo 3 game with lower resolution and then check whether it makes any difference or not?

I have downloaded latest graphic drivers for my Evga GTX 460 SC graphic card and then I have installed in my computer but after installing that also problem still occurred. Now after that I have also downloaded latest DirectX and installed but result was same. Running the game with different resolution didn’t help me to solve this problem. Is there any other way to solve this problem then please let me know? Any help will be appreciated.

There is nothing to do with the graphic drivers in your computer. All you need to do I turn off the shadow option from the graphic setting in the game and set Physics and texture to medium or lower and then you have to check whether same problem get solved or not? You have to also move the FPS slider to right side to increase the FPS in the game and then when you start playing Diablo 3 game in your computer at that time you will not face any problem.

I am telling you this solution because I was also experiencing same problem while playing Diablo 3 in my computer and then first I thought that problem was occurring because of the outdated graphic drivers and I have downloaded latest graphic drivers and installed in my system but after that also problem occurred again.

Now after that I have come to know there is a setting for the controlling FPS in the Diablo 3 and then I have changed setting from there and I have also lower the Physics and texture option so that I can get better performance of the game. you can also try this trick to resolve this problem.

If above solution does not helped to solve this problem then you have to try this solution to fix this problem.

Open my computer and then open Diablo III folder from the Documents. Now after that you have to look for the D3Prefs.txt file and open it. Now you have to change “DisableTrilinearFiltering” from o to 1 and then save that files. After saving that file you have to check whether you are still facing low FPS problem or not? May be by doing this changes your problem will get solved. If you get same problem even after trying this solution then let me know.

After looking at above solution I have first tried to solve this problem by disabling the shadow option and moving FPS slider to right side from the Diablo 3 game but after trying this solution also I get same problem.

Now after that I have also opened D3Prefs.txt file from Diablo III folder and changed the value of “DisableTrilinearFiltering” from o to 1 and saved that file but problem does not get solved, is there any other way to solve this problem then let me know.

Well friends I have fixed this problem with the help of MSI Afterburner in my computer. All you need to do is download MSI Afterburner from the internet and then install it in your computer now you have to open On-Screen Display Server by going in to the all programs in start menu and clicking on the MSI. After opening the On-Screen Display Server you have to click on button with 60” on it and after that you have to click on plus sign. Now you have to go to the folder where you have installed Diablo 3 game and select Diablo 3 game launch file. Now Diablo 3 game launch file will appear in the program list and then you have to click on it. After that you have to click on the setting button (you will find in top right side of the window) and then set frame rate from there. After setting the frame rate you have to click on Ok button. Now start playing Diablo 3 game and you will not face any problem with it. Now whenever you Diablo 3 game in your computer before that you have to start MSI Afterburner tool.
